Where To Start

Drainage Assessment or Drain Maintenance — which do you need?

Our initial visit with you will generally start with one of two appointments: A drainage assessment or drain maintenance. Each of these provide a unique value (and apply to different scenarios), so let’s explain what those differences are to help identify which applies to you!

Drainage Assessment

Understand the problem and plan a solution.

An in-person evaluation to identify what’s causing water problems on your property and recommend a solution. We evaluate grading, runoff, and possible groundwater sources, explain our findings, and identify any uncertainty or need for further investigation.

Choose this if: You need help understanding a drainage problem or planning new drainage.

Drain Maintenance

Clean or inspect your existing system.

A service visit to clean, inspect, or troubleshoot existing drains and sump pumps. Depending on your needs, we use hydro-jet cleaning, camera inspections, and locating equipment to find blockages, damage, or other system concerns.

Choose this if: You have an existing drainage system that needs cleaning, inspection, or routine maintenance.

If you’re not sure where to start, give us a call and tell us about your situation. Our team is happy to listen and help identify what the best plan of action is for your specific needs.

Drainage Assessment (evaluation & system design)

Zac Martin Lead Drainage Assessor Designer and EstimatorAn assessment visit includes (1) assessor/designer who is thoroughly trained in the standards of Dallas Drainage Pros. This visual evaluation of your property is to identify the type of drainage problem, the source of the issue, and the recommended solution. (The assessment will look at both active or potential issues (such as for upcoming construction.) Your specialist will use technical equipment such as a laser level to check elevations and slope, software to calculate watershed volume, a relative humidity reader to check moisture levels, and digital maps (topographic or GPS) to search for indicators of the type and source of contributing water in the general area.

Every property is different, and drainage problems often involve a combination of grading, roof runoff, and subsurface water movement. Because of this, properly diagnosing the issue usually requires an in-person evaluation of the property. Our drainage specialist will walk the property, evaluate these details, and determine whether the issue is surface water, groundwater, or both. From there, we can recommend the appropriate drainage solution.

It is our experience that many drainage problems are misdiagnosed or poorly addressed. Our promise it to never guess about what the issue or solution might be. If there is any uncertainty about a cause or solution, we will tell you explicitly. For these reasons, Dallas Drainage Pros performs a comprehensive drainage assessment as part of providing a recommended solution and system design.

Standard Pricing: $295 (set rate, per property)

(This fee may be applied to qualifying projects of $5,000 or more. *See Drainage Assessments for more details.*

Drain Maintenance (cleaning and/or inspection of existing systems)

Drain Maintenance Cleaning and Inspecting Existing SystemsA maintenance visit includes (2) technicians, equipped with a hydro jet machine (for pipe cleaning), a high-powered sewer camera (for pipe scoping), digital locator equipment for finding where pipe is underground, a sludge-removing pump/vacuum for cleaning out sump pump pits, and a general list of tools needed for cleaning, inspecting and general servicing of existing drainage systems.

This service visit is for properties with existing drainage that needs to be cleaned or inspected because either: A) it is not draining properly and the goal is to restore acceptable function after cleaning, B) it is not draining properly and the underlying issue needs to be found/diagnosed, or C) the drainage system is on a discounted regular maintenance plan as a pro-active measure to stay ahead of any drainage issues. (Regular maintenance also extends the warranty of systems installed by Dallas Drainage Pros.)

Our maintenance team can inspect sump pumps, locate root-intrusions, identify faulty system design and catch issues early before they become a major problem. For this reason we recommend getting on one of our regularly scheduled maintenance plans, which come not only with discounted pricing, but also peace of mind.

Standard Pricing: $345 for initial hour + $245 per additional hour (additional hours billed incrementally)
